COVID Dances
COVID dances was an exploration of time, space, and partnering in 2020-2021.
I began a daily practice of dancing in alternative spaces, starting in my kitchen, my bedroom, and then public parks, roads, and beaches, often very early in the morning, before these spaces filled with people. I lived in Somerville, MA for most of the early pandemic, the most densely populated residential area in New England. Early in the pandemic folks were distancing and masking even outdoors as we learned about how the virus was transmitted.
I spent a lot of time in Powder House Park and on a closed road in Somerville while a new T station was being built, and once that road opened again, moved the daily ritual to Nahant Beach. I shared these on social media as a way to process the complete breakdown of the artistic and creative communities that had nurtured me at this juncture. I explored partnering intentionally and unintentionally with other beings in these new dance spaces I created.

Intimations Dance
Intimations Dance was a contemporary dance company creating collaborative artist-led performance work in partnership with composers, musicians, projection artists, lighting designers, and alternative dance spaces. Our work focused on constructions of the self, the other, and our bodies in space through the lens of social media, technology, and performativity.
